Overview
- Emergency crews responded to a report of a possible drowning on Lake Tahoe’s north shore and recovered a person from the water on Saturday, according to the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District.
- Responders began advanced life support and CPR at the scene but the person was pronounced dead after resuscitation efforts failed.
- Local TV reported the rescue took place at Hidden Beach south of Incline Village and that fire, sheriff and boat units were staged along State Route 28, though agencies have not released an exact location.
- The fire district said the victim’s identity will be withheld until next of kin are notified and that law enforcement and other agencies are investigating the cause of death.
- The National Weather Service warned that lakes and streams in the region remain cold despite warm weather, a condition that often makes swimming and rescues more dangerous for visitors.
