- On Aug. 23, 22-year-old Glenwood Earl Pysher IV was shot and killed after he mistakenly knocked on the back door of a Snyder Road home and homeowners called 911 reporting a possible break-in.
- Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele announced on Tuesday, Sept. 1, that Upper Pottsgrove Police Cpl. Sean Farrell is charged with voluntary manslaughter after a detective review of the shooting.
- Prosecutors said Farrell’s body-worn camera shows Pysher raising his hands while standing about 17 to 20 feet away, that Farrell fired two shots before finishing a verbal command, and that Pysher was unarmed.
- Officials said Farrell had less-than-lethal options on his belt, including a taser and baton, which were not used; the Montgomery County coroner ruled Pysher’s death a homicide.
