Pearl Abyss Adds Full Controller Remapping in Crimson Desert Patch 1.09

Released May 29 to answer long-standing control complaints, the update also signals continued live updates and exploration of paid DLC.

Overview

  • The patch, which went live Friday, May 29, ships as Crimson Desert version 1.09.00 and console build 1.000.312 and introduces full controller/button remapping so players can rebind controller inputs.
  • Pearl Abyss added roughly 30 species of small animals that can be registered as pets and new pick-up and put-down animations for certain companions.
  • New companion skills were granted to Oongka and Damiane that use the same input as Kliff’s Blinding Flash Finisher (Heavy attack while using Blinding Flash), improving their combat options.
  • Patch 1.09 also fixes a broad set of issues across content, controls, UI, graphics, localization and stability, including a PC fix for distant shadows not rendering with Raytraced Sun/Moon Light Shadows enabled.
  • The update continues Pearl Abyss’s rapid, surprise live-ops cadence of player-driven tweaks and small content drops, and the studio says it is exploring paid DLC as a future option.
