PEAK’s ‘Play It Your Way’ Update Lands With Custom Runs and Campfire Autosaves

The patch helps busy players by adding flexible run lengths with save points at campfires.

Overview

  • Aggro Crab and Landfall released the Play It Your Way update on Monday on Steam for PC, bringing new ways to tailor and pause climbs.
  • Custom Runs, found at the Airport’s Boarding Kiosk, let players tweak difficulty, hazards and item spawns, and include a “Grapple Mode (Stupid),” though achievements turn off in this mode.
  • Mini Runs offer a single-biome climb for quick sessions, and Chill Campfires let squads linger without hunger or fog pressure until someone leaves.
  • Campfire autosaves let groups quit and resume from the last fire, though the save clears after a win, a loss or a new expedition and can vanish if a future patch removes that day’s map.
  • An optional Zombie Phobia Mode changes the look of mushroom zombies, and the patch fixes issues such as lost achievement progress after reconnects, a rope shooter glitch that could lock controls, and revive/report problems.
