Peacock Renews Keke Palmer’s The ’Burbs for Season 2

Peacock cites 1.7 billion viewing minutes after a Super Bowl–day premiere.

Overview

  • Peacock announced the second-season pickup on Monday, April 13, confirming the suburban mystery comedy will continue on the service.
  • Since its Feb. 8 Super Bowl Sunday launch, the series generated 1.7 billion viewing minutes and posted the best Day 1 ever for a Peacock original.
  • The show landed in Nielsen’s U.S. Originals Top 10 for four straight weeks, peaking at No. 2, which is notable because Nielsen ranks by minutes watched and that favors longer dramas.
  • The series comes from UCP and creator Celeste Hughey with executive producers including Keke Palmer, Seth MacFarlane and Brian Grazer, and it stars Palmer with Jack Whitehall, Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch and Kapil Talwalkar.
  • Season 1 closed on a cliffhanger, and the renewal positions the writers to extend the Hinkley Hills mystery as the show continues to roll out internationally in 100-plus territories.
