Paul Seixas Reconnoiters Tour de France Sixth Stage With Multiple Tourmalet Climbs

Two days of Strava‑logged rides totaling about 7,000 meters of climbing signal strong mountain form ahead of his final build toward the Tour de France.

Overview

  • Seixas completed the reconnaissance over the weekend of May 30–31, riding two heavy outings that together recorded roughly 7,000 meters of positive elevation.
  • Strava data show a 136 km Saturday ride that included the Col d'Aspin and the Tourmalet and logged about 4,200 m of climbing in roughly 4 hours 45 minutes.
  • He repeated a similar route on Sunday with about 90 km and 2,900 m of climbing in a little over 3 hours 15 minutes, including multiple ascents of the Tourmalet.
  • The recon was done with teammates Nicolas Prodhomme and Matthew Riccitello and produced several best‑segment times, giving the team detailed pacing and terrain notes for the Pau–Gavarnie‑Gèdre stage.
  • The sixth stage is a demanding mountain test of about 186 km and 4,000 m of elevation, and Seixas will ride the Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes from June 7–14 as his final preparation before the Tour de France starts in Barcelona on July 4.
