Patriots Announce Joint Training Camp Practices With Colts and Eagles

The sessions will serve as controlled, game-like evaluations and offer A.J. Brown his first on-field meetings with the Eagles since his trade.

Overview

  • Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said the team will host the Indianapolis Colts for a single joint practice on Aug. 11 and the Philadelphia Eagles for two practices on Aug. 19 and Aug. 20.
  • A.J. Brown passed his physical this week and has already practiced with New England, setting up an emotionally charged matchup when he faces his former Eagles teammates in Foxborough.
  • The team’s full preseason slate was also reported this week, with exhibition games against the Colts on Aug. 13, the Eagles on Aug. 22, and a nationally televised game versus the Cleveland Browns on Aug. 27 on Prime Video.
  • The Colts practice is expected to showcase top cornerback matchups such as Christian Gonzalez and Sauce Gardner, while the Patriots and Eagles will use the two-day block to simulate game conditions for starters.
  • Joint practices have been a regular part of New England’s camp since 2010 and are valued for giving starters live, scripted reps; fan access for the Aug. 19–20 Eagles sessions has not yet been confirmed and details should be announced closer to camp.
