Patrick Renna Reunites Sandlot Cast for New Comedy Series Dugout Dads

Using original characters to satirize adult Little League meltdowns, the single-camera comedy is set for release later in 2026 with distribution still to be announced.

Overview

  • Renna and partner Kyle Howard announced the series through their Hambino Media banner, and many original Sandlot actors are slated to appear alongside Danielle Fishel in a recurring role.
  • All characters in Dugout Dads are original creations and not continuations of the 1993 film’s roles, even though the show reunites several of the same performers.
  • The writers attached are Sebastian Jones and Dan Kopelman, Victor Nelli Jr. is directing, and Victoria Fradkin is producing with Renna and Howard.
  • The premise follows Renna as an idealistic dad who volunteers to coach his child’s Little League team and finds the adults — coaches, parents and himself — cause the most chaos, a concept Renna says draws on his own coaching experience.
  • Dugout Dads is slated to premiere later in 2026; Hambino Media, founded in 2025 and named after Renna’s Sandlot persona, is developing the show and has not yet disclosed a distributor or specific release date.
