Overview
- Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the Malahi Pakri section on July 2 and passenger services resumed after a scheduled suspension from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- The extension increases the active corridor to about 6.2 km between ISBT and Malahi Pakri and lets riders complete that trip in roughly 15 minutes.
- Metro services currently stop at ISBT, Zero Mile, Bhootnath and Malahi Pakri while Khemnichak was inaugurated but will open to passengers only after remaining construction is finished.
- Patna Metro fixed the fare for the new stretch at Rs 30 and revised operations from 24 to 22 daily trips, with a round trip taking about 35 minutes and trains running at roughly 35-minute intervals.
- The opening is a phased step in a larger 31.9 km, two-corridor metro project approved in 2019 and funded by the Bihar government, the central government and JICA to improve last-mile links and cut road congestion.
