Paraguayan Fugitive Extradited to Argentina Over 2018 Child Abuse Case

A PFA Federal Fugitives division team flew him from Paraguay to Buenos Aires to face proceedings in Juzgado Nacional Nº47.

  • He landed at Buenos Aires’ Aeroparque Metropolitano Jorge Newbery and is now held in Juzgado Nacional en lo Criminal y Correccional Nº47 awaiting trial.
  • Court records show that on December 6, 2018, he lured a child by promising to “play boyfriend and girlfriend” and then attempted to rape her before her mother intervened.
  • Judge Javier Sánchez Sarmiento charged him with sexual abuse of a minor and issued an arrest warrant that went unfilled when he fled the country.
  • The PFA’s Division of Federal Investigation of Fugitives and Extraditions joined forces with Paraguayan security forces to track and apprehend him after more than six years on the run.
  • The 44-year-old Paraguayan national now faces further proceedings under Argentine jurisdiction as authorities work to advance the case.
