Overview
- Pocketpair said it plans to roll out Palworld version 1.0 around 12:30 p.m. Japan time on Friday, July 10, an approximate launch window that converts to late evening on July 9 for U.S. time zones.
- The 1.0 update is the developer’s largest overhaul and introduces the World Tree and Sky Islands, more than 20 new Pals, a Genetic Recombination breeding system, reworked progression, and server clustering to change how multiplayer worlds populate.
- Players can keep existing saves if they wish but Pocketpair recommends starting a new character because sweeping changes to mechanics, story and systems will give a cleaner experience.
- Pocketpair announced Palworld has passed 40 million players during Early Access and confirmed the game will keep its $29.99 price at full release; the update will appear on PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), Mac, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series and Xbox Game Pass.
- The game remains subject to an ongoing legal dispute with Nintendo over alleged similarities to Pokémon that has already forced prior mechanic changes, and that litigation could continue to affect future design and distribution choices.
