Overview
- District officials formally launched the package on Wednesday by activating multi-tier Maternal and Child Control Rooms at district, taluka and PHC levels to monitor pregnancies and speed referrals.
- Medical officers were ordered to remain at their PHCs and rural hospitals to ensure immediate care and faster transfer of complicated cases.
- The administration announced plans to add dedicated ambulance drivers, increase vehicle availability and implement real-time GPS monitoring of 108 and 102 services to cut response times in remote talukas.
- Community measures include asking women’s Self-Help Groups to prepare supplementary food for children with SAM and MAM and scheduling sickle cell screening for ages 0–40 under an anaemia drive.
- Major upgrades such as TB NAAT machines, digital X-rays, NQAS support and Ayushman Bharat registration camps are under proposal or preparation and will need funding, staff and clear SOPs before they can deliver results.
