Overview
- Security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Central Kurram, killing six militants in total, according to ISPR.
- The three killed in Panjgur were identified as Farooq (alias Soro), Adeel and Waseem, and weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the site.
- ISPR said the Panjgur suspects were linked to Fitna al Hindustan, described by the military as an Indian-sponsored proxy, while the Kurram operation targeted TTP-linked fighters referred to as Kharijis.
- Search, sanitisation and clearance operations are continuing under the national counterterrorism drive tied to the National Action Plan.
- President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi publicly praised the forces and cast the actions as part of efforts to counter foreign-backed militancy.
