Overview
- APCMA data released Monday showed April cement despatches rose 11.14% year over year to 3.890 million tonnes.
- Local sales climbed 20.17% to 3.217 million tonnes as construction activity picked up.
- Exports fell 18.22% to 673,058 tonnes compared with the same month last year.
- Regional trends split, with north-based mills recording 2.662 million tonnes in local deliveries and no exports, while south-based mills lifted local sales 30.35% to 555,104 tonnes as their exports dipped about 5%.
- For July through April, total despatches reached 42.396 million tonnes, up 9.83%, with domestic volumes at 34.785 million tonnes and exports at 7.611 million tonnes.
