Pakistan and U.S. Reaffirm Ties in Islamabad Talks Focused on Security and Economic Cooperation

  • Dar welcomed what he called positive momentum in ties and emphasized sustained high-level engagement to expand collaboration in areas including trade, investment, security and technology.
  • The meeting coincided with broader U.S. outreach in Pakistan, including Deputy Assistant Secretary John Mark Pommersheim’s talks on emerging technologies such as AI, a U.S. pledge to facilitate energy investment and safer business conditions, and a webinar linking 25 U.S. ICT firms with Pakistani officials.
  • Separately, Dar spoke with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty to exchange views on bilateral relations and regional and international matters of mutual interest.
