Ozzy Osbourne's Iconic Throne Returns to Birmingham Museum

Sharon Osbourne donated the black gothic chair to anchor the extended 'Working Class Hero' exhibit as the city marks the first anniversary of his final concert.

Overview

  • The throne will be installed at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and open to the public as part of the free 'Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero' exhibition starting July 1, 2026.
  • The chair was custom-made for Osbourne’s 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and was used at his final performance, the 'Back To The Beginning' concert on July 5, 2025 at Villa Park.
  • Sharon Osbourne formally donated the throne and Central BID Birmingham coordinated with the family and museums trust to return the piece to Ozzy’s hometown for public display.
  • The exhibition has been extended twice, has drawn more than 640,000 visitors since June 2025, and will now run through September 27, 2026 to accommodate continued demand and anniversary programming.
  • Organisers say the throne’s display will serve both as a memorial for fans marking the year since Ozzy’s death and as a cultural draw to highlight Birmingham’s musical heritage this summer.
