Overview
- After he missed sessions on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department conducted a welfare check and found him in his hotel room.
- He was pronounced dead at about 9:20 a.m. on Jan. 9, according to authorities.
- Oxnard police said no foul play is suspected and indicated the death is not expected to be attributed beyond natural causes.
- The Orange County Coroner’s Office will perform the autopsy as the investigation continues.
- Aaron, a former U.S. Marine who joined Oxnard police in 2004 and was promoted to commander in May 2025, was praised by Chief Jason Benites and is survived by his wife, two children, his mother and a grandson.
