Ossoff Leads Collins by Double Digits in Georgia Senate Race

Ossoff’s cash advantage, broad support among Black voters and young people, and a challenge to three televised debates boost Democratic standing for a seat that could tip Senate control.

Overview

  • A Fox News–sponsored poll released July 1 shows Sen. Jon Ossoff ahead 56% to 43% over Rep. Mike Collins, a 13‑point margin based on interviews conducted June 23–27 with 1,002 registered Georgia voters.
  • Ossoff’s lead is strongest with Black voters, those under 30, independents, moderates and women under 45, and he holds a higher personal favorability (about 58%) than Collins (about 44%).
  • Ossoff reported roughly $32 million in cash on hand at the end of April compared with about $1.7 million for Collins at the end of May, giving the incumbent a major advantage in advertising and turnout operations.
  • Ossoff has challenged Collins to three televised general‑election debates and amplified allegations of a federal probe into Collins’s conduct; Collins has denied wrongdoing and has not publicly agreed to the additional debates.
  • Collins won the Republican nomination in a June runoff backed by President Trump, leaving the GOP divided between MAGA‑aligned voters and other Republicans, and voters list inflation as their top concern — an issue the poll says favors Ossoff.
