Orlando Sets 2025 Visitor Record, Will Host 2028 Olympic Qualifiers

Domestic strength offset international softness to keep Orlando’s growth on track.

Overview

  • Visit Orlando, which released the figures Thursday, said 76.7 million people visited in 2025, up 1.8% from 2024 for the highest total on record.
  • Domestic travel reached a record 70.3 million visitors, while international arrivals slipped 2.4% to 6.3 million as Canadian visits fell 13.3% to about 1.12 million.
  • New draws such as Universal’s Epic Universe and a stronger meetings market lifted demand, with group attendance up 3.1% to 5.8 million.
  • Orlando International Airport began its first passenger charter flights to Tokyo in early 2026, and travel from Mexico, Colombia and Japan hit records.
  • Officials also said Orlando will stage the U.S. Olympic Q‑Series in May–June 2028, a qualifier circuit featuring 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, BMX freestyle, climbing, flag football and skateboarding that could draw new visitors.
