  • The Orioles optioned right-hander Dean Kremer to Minor League camp on Saturday, leaving him off the Opening Day roster and likely sending him to Triple-A Norfolk.
  • Baltimore will open with a five-man rotation: Trevor Rogers, Kyle Bradish, Shane Baz, Chris Bassitt and Zach Eflin.
  • With three off-days in the first 15 days of the season, the team elected not to carry a six-man rotation.
  • Kremer posted a 5.00 ERA in three Grapefruit League starts and has a 6.24 career ERA in March/April, including 7.04 last spring’s first month.
  • Barring an injured-list move, the earliest Kremer can be recalled is April 9, and Eflin eased readiness concerns with 5 1/3 scoreless innings and seven strikeouts on Friday.
