- General manager Mike Elias said Friday the procedure was Tommy John surgery on Westburg’s right elbow and that it ends his season.
- Westburg pursued rehab after a Feb. 20 platelet-rich plasma injection, then shut down his throwing in early May and met with Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday before choosing surgery.
- Elias said a full return in early 2027 is in play for a position player recovering from a repaired ulnar collateral ligament.
