Oppo Opens ColorOS 17 Closed Beta for Selected Oppo, OnePlus and Realme Phones

The two-day, seat-limited test gives early access to an Android 17-based ColorOS and signals a shift toward a single skin across BBK-linked brands.

Overview

  • Oppo launched a closed beta recruitment for ColorOS 17 with applications open for a two-day window on August 6–7 and 300 tester slots per eligible device.
  • Eligible models listed for the CBT are the OnePlus 15 (India), OnePlus 15R (global), Oppo Find X9 Pro (global), Oppo Reno 15 Pro (global) and Realme GT 8 Pro (global).
  • Users must apply from their phone settings (About Device or System Update > three dots > Beta Program/Trial Version > Closed Beta/CBT Recruitment) and OnePlus testers must hold a OnePlus Community account, sign an NDA, and join a Telegram group to work with the software team.
  • Oppo and reporting outlets warn the builds are unstable and meant only for testers, so applicants are advised to back up all data before enrolling.
  • The CBT follows Google's Android 17 Beta for Pixel phones and advances a broader move by Realme and OnePlus to adopt ColorOS, with the next steps likely to include wider open betas and eventual stable releases.
