OPP Lay Impaired-Driving Charges in West Nipissing, Kingston and Essex County

Each investigation led to 90-day licence suspensions, seven-day impounds, then scheduled court appearances.

  • In West Nipissing, officers responded around 1:20 a.m. Friday to a single-vehicle crash on Kirkpatrick Road and found the novice driver impaired by alcohol.
  • Jeremy Leavens-Goulais, 22, of Warren, was charged with impaired driving over 80 mg, novice driver with a blood-alcohol concentration above zero, and failing to properly wear a seatbelt.
  • Frontenac OPP stopped an erratically driven vehicle on Jan. 18 on Road 38 near Van Order Drive in Kingston and found open alcohol inside.
  • Robin Prest, 34, of Kingston, was charged with operation while impaired (80 plus) and failing to surrender a driver’s licence after roadside screening and further testing at a detachment.
  • Essex County OPP reported four impaired-driving arrests over four days, with each accused receiving a 90-day suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment as police urged the public to report suspected impaired driving.
