ONPE to Open Voter-Site Selection Portal as Primary Votes Approach

Peru’s electoral system projects nearly S/4 billion to run the 2026 elections.

Overview

  • - The 'Elige tu Local de Votación' tool will be available from November 23 to December 14, allowing voters to choose up to three nearby polling sites based on the address on their DNI.
  • - Only addresses updated by the October 14 padrón cutoff will be recognized by the platform, which assigns final locations after the selection window closes.
  • - Primaries will be held in two stages, with APRA and Renovación Popular holding affiliate voting on November 30 and delegate-based final nominations set for December 7.
  • - ONPE’s ODPE units are publishing local polling lists and training party-designated table members on procedures and the STAE tally-support system, including 95 tables in 49 sites for Lima and Callao on November 30.
  • - ONPE reports 65 registered presidential precandidacies for the primaries, while the cases of Martín Vizcarra and Morgan Quero were not accepted due to absence from the JNE-approved affiliates register.
