Overview
- The ONPE fixed August 24 as the deadline for the second mandatory financial report, which covers economic activity from March 14 to August 1, 2026, and applies to 37 political organizations and 7,378 candidates or their campaign responsables.
- Reports must be submitted electronically via the CLARIDAD portal or delivered in person to ONPE central, regional coordination offices or ODPE offices, and the agency will verify filings and may open procedures for noncompliance.
- ONPE is continuing operational deployment for the October 4 regional and municipal vote, including seven ODPEs installed in Arequipa and an ODPE San Román plan to habilitate 114 voting locales across San Román, Melgar and Lampa.
- The agency is rolling out inclusion measures and voter education, such as a Puno training that reached 146 participants, preferential voting attention for people with disabilities, older adults, pregnant women and voters with children, and Braille templates and accessible modules at polling sites.
- Free campaign airtime will begin in September rather than August to ensure only definitively registered candidates access the franja after inscriptions are finalized by the September 5 deadline, a change that will affect parties’ broadcast plans.
