ONPE Opens National Tool to Choose 2026 Polling Place, Selections Due Dec. 14

The tool lets voters rank up to three nearby sites based on the DNI address fixed at the Oct. 14 roll closure.

Overview

  • Voters nationwide can submit up to three preferred locations within their DNI-registered district, with ONPE assigning one based on availability and capacity.
  • Access runs 24/7 from Nov. 23 to Dec. 14, covers 8,455 locales, and supports Spanish, Quechua and Aymara, with an option to register disabilities for preferential attention.
  • Identity is verified by answering personal questions on desktop or by questions plus DNI photo or facial recognition on mobile, followed by email confirmation.
  • Those who do not choose will be auto-assigned a site, and electors on the digital-vote list cannot use the platform; eligible 18-year-olds on election day may participate if on the roll.
  • Reports differ on when ONPE will notify final assignments, with some citing Jan. 13, 2026 and others indicating March 2026.
