Overview
- The Galaxy A15 5G is receiving Android 16–based One UI 8.0 in Canada and the U.S., with firmware A156WVLU7DYIB and A156USQU7DYIB respectively, a 2.2GB download that includes the September 2025 security patch.
- Cellular versions of the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra in the U.S. are getting One UI 8.0, a 3.2GB package with firmware builds ending DYJ1 (X718USQU6DYJ1, X818USQU6DYJ1, X918USQU6DYJ1).
- Samsung appears to have resumed One UI 8 updates for the Galaxy S24 and S23 in South Korea, according to screenshots shared by tipster Tarun Vats, following a temporary pause earlier this month.
- The One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy S25 series has reportedly been postponed, with leaks linking the delay to a reshuffle of the Galaxy S26 lineup, including canceling an S26 Edge and reinstating an S26+; Samsung has not confirmed this.
- One UI 8 adds a full-screen Quick Share with separate Send and Receive tabs, a redesigned Samsung Internet menu, animated Weather visuals, and new Modes and Routines actions, and covered devices like the A15 5G and Tab S9 series still have future major OS updates under Samsung’s four-update policy.
