One Dead and One Hospitalized After Boat Runs Aground on Detroit River

Officials found the vessel largely out of the water on Habitat Shoals and have opened an active investigation to identify the operator and determine whether alcohol or other factors played a role.

  • The 37-foot white Rinker left Humbug Marina around 2:30 a.m. and later ran aground on Habitat Shoals southeast of Celeron Island, where it was found mostly out of the water.
