One Dead and One Critically Wounded in Early-Morning Montgomery Shooting

Montgomery police have opened an active investigation with no suspect or motive released and are urging the public to send tips to tip lines.

Police who responded just after midnight Thursday to the 3400 block of Texas Street found one man dead at the scene and another with life-threatening gunshot injuries who was taken to a local hospital.
Montgomery Police Department spokeswoman Lt. Tina McGriff confirmed officers discovered the victims after an overnight report of people shot and said the department is actively investigating.
Local reporting identified the deceased as 40-year-old Eldrick McNeal and noted this fatality raises the city’s homicide count for the year.
