Overview
- A Toyota HiLux lost control and rolled off a dirt track on Samson Road in Jingalup at about 12:30am on Saturday, leaving the vehicle overturned.
- A 30-year-old front-seat passenger suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene while the 24-year-old driver and three other passengers sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
- St John paramedics, firefighters and WA Police attended the scene and transported the injured to Kojonup Hospital for treatment.
- WA Police have opened an investigation and urged anyone with dashcam, CCTV or phone footage or witness information to contact Crime Stoppers or provide anonymous tips online or by calling 1800 333 000.
- Local reports identified the deceased as James Heggaton, a Great Southern farmer, and the crash was one of several deadly road incidents reported in Western Australia over the National Road Safety Week weekend.
