Overview
- Four students returning from a Hoskote biryani outing around 5:30–6:00 a.m. on December 21 were intercepted near Kada Agrahara and forced into a shed near Medahalli.
- The gang allegedly seized three phones and about ₹40,000 in cash and transferred roughly ₹1.10 lakh from the students’ accounts using a UPI app.
- Avalahalli police registered kidnapping and dacoity cases based on a student’s complaint and formed a team to track the culprits.
- Police arrested Arfath (Arfat) Ahmed, 24, a resident of KG Halli, after tracing the digital transfer trail, and recovered the students’ two-wheelers.
- Searches are underway to locate the remaining accused, with Whitefield division officers overseeing the ongoing investigation.
