Omoda Jaecoo Axes J7 Core in Australia, Sets New Entry at $37,990 Drive-Away
A $3000 cashback temporarily brings the Track to $34,990 through February 28, 2026.
Overview
- The Australian range now comprises two petrol trims (Track FWD, Ridge AWD) and two SHS plug-in hybrid trims (Track, Summit).
- Dropping the Core makes the better-equipped Track the starting point, adding items such as a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, a driver knee airbag, a power tailgate, dual-zone climate control and heated front seats.
- Petrol models use a 1.6-litre turbo with 137kW and 275Nm via a seven-speed dual-clutch, while SHS PHEVs pair a 1.5-litre engine with a 150kW motor and an 18.3kWh battery for about 90km WLTP electric range.
- A five-star ANCAP rating applies to the SHS plug-in hybrid only, with petrol variants yet to receive a rating.
- All J7s are covered by an eight-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty with capped-price servicing, and 2706 units were delivered in 2025 after sales began in May.
