Oman Launches Mandatory National Bitcoin Mining Pool

The state-run pool centralizes licensed miners under government oversight to boost regulatory visibility for mining tied to Oman’s $700 million infrastructure push.

Overview

  • Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology launched Omanhash.om on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, and designated it the mandatory pool for all licensed cryptocurrency miners in the sultanate.
  • Frontier Technologies will operate the pool locally while Enegix Global provides the underlying technology platform and liquidity infrastructure for settlements and block assignment.
  • The pool went live with an estimated initial hashrate of about 10 exahashes per second, bringing Enegix’s combined sovereign-pool capacity to roughly 25 EH/s and supporting a company target of 30 EH/s.
  • Routing all licensed Omani miners through a single accredited pool gives regulators direct sight of hashrate, mined rewards and energy use, which simplifies reporting and taxation but removes miners’ freedom to choose pools.
  • The Oman deployment follows the Kazakhstan sovereign‑pool model, builds on more than $700 million invested in Salalah data centers since 2022, and could reshape where miners and investors place large-scale capacity.
