Overview
- A Muskogee County jury found Cherie Dawn Walker guilty of enabling child sexual abuse and six counts of child neglect in mid-July and recommended life sentences on each count.
- Her husband, Dustin Joel Walker, pleaded guilty in March to sexually abusing the girl and was sentenced in June to life in prison plus 42 years after DNA tied him to the infant with 99 percent certainty.
- Authorities started investigating in August 2025 when the then-11-year-old delivered a full-term baby at home without prenatal care or medical assistance and was later taken to a hospital.
- Prosecutors described the home as unsanitary with no running water and children living in squalid conditions, and they said the girl had been pulled out of school which limited outside detection of the abuse.
- The victim and her siblings were placed in state care, the girl faces long-term physical and mental health needs, and the child’s maternal grandmother faces a separate neglect trial next week.
