Oklahoma Lands 2027 Running Back Jakoby Dixon

The pledge strengthens Oklahoma’s 2027 class as running backs coach Deland McCullough records his first RB commitment.

Overview

Jakoby Dixon, who announced his commitment on Sunday, May 31, 2026, chose Oklahoma over offers from Texas, Oregon, Texas A&M and other Power Five programs.
Dixon is a three-star prospect from Brenham High School listed around 5-foot-10 and 200–210 pounds with one high-school season still to play.
As an underclassman Dixon earned district MVP honors and posted roughly 2,200 rushing yards and more than 30 touchdowns in his standout sophomore season.
Deland McCullough drove Oklahoma’s pursuit, making in-person evaluations and hosting Dixon on an official visit this weekend, and Dixon is McCullough’s first RB commit at OU.
Dixon joins four-star Keldrid Ben as the second running back in Oklahoma’s 2027 class and raises the Sooners’ total to 22 commits while giving the program more future depth at a position hit by recent turnover.
