- The Oklahoma Department of Corrections said the lethal injection began at 10:07 a.m., Simpson was rendered unconscious at 10:13, and he was pronounced dead at 10:19 a.m. CT at the state penitentiary in McAlester.
- A jury convicted Simpson in 2007 for firing about 20 rounds into a car after a nightclub altercation, killing Anthony Jones, 19, and Glen Palmer, 20, while a third occupant survived.
