Overview
- Two separate downtown incidents, which unfolded Saturday night, led to the arrest of a 13-year-old at Scissortail Park after a 15-year-old was grazed by a bullet and the arrest of a 16-year-old near the Paycom Center with no reported injuries.
- Officers recovered guns in both downtown arrests, and investigators said they do not yet know if the two cases are connected.
- Hours after the downtown gunfire, a late Saturday double shooting at an apartment lot near Southwest 38th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue left 26-year-old Enrique Chavez dead and another person hospitalized.
- Following Sunday’s likely swatting call at the same southwest complex, which is a fake emergency meant to draw a heavy police response, detectives took a person of interest in the homicide into custody as the investigation continued.
