Overview
- Senior Petroleum Ministry officials met SCCL chairman and managing director Buddhaprakash Jyoti in Hyderabad on Friday and urged the company to join the upcoming exploration auction.
- Three coal‑bed methane blocks in the Singareni–Pranahita–Godavari region carry a preliminary combined resource estimate of about 19 billion cubic metres.
- The blocks span six Telangana districts with estimated resources of about 5 BCM in Mancherial–Peddapalli–Komaram Bheem, about 2 BCM in Bhadradri Kothagudem, and about 12 BCM in a Bhadradri Kothagudem–Mulugu block.
- The ministry said it will shortly auction exploration rights and encouraged SCCL to leverage its 13 decades of coal‑exploration experience.
