Overview
- Oil India, which disclosed Sunday it had lifted output in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur sandstone, set a new mark of 1,202 barrels per day, up about 70% from last year’s 705 bpd.
- In financial year 2025–26, the company produced 43,773 metric tonnes from the Rajasthan block, compared with 32,787 metric tonnes the year before.
- Engineers expanded Cyclic Steam Stimulation, which injects steam in cycles to thin heavy crude so it can flow, and added fishbone drilling, electric downhole heaters, and hydraulic sucker rod pumps.
- The crude from Baghewala in Jaisalmer moves by tanker to ONGC’s Mehsana facilities in Gujarat and then by pipeline to Indian Oil’s Koyali refinery, tying the field into the national fuel system.
- The gain comes during reported Iranian limits at the Strait of Hormuz, and the oil ministry says refinery runs and inventories are sufficient to keep fuel supplies steady.
