OIC Endorses Palestinian Reforms and Demands Immediate Release of Withheld Revenues

Overview

• The OIC publicly praised tangible institutional, administrative and financial reforms by the Palestinian government at donor and ministerial meetings in Brussels held on July 13-14.
• It called for the immediate and unconditional release of Palestinian tax and clearance revenues withheld by Israel, warning that continued withholding has created a severe liquidity crisis that threatens delivery of healthcare, education and social welfare.
• The OIC urged international partners and donors to provide urgent financial support to the Palestinian Authority and said backing Palestinian institutions is an investment in regional stability and the two-state outcome.
• The body renewed demands that the international community press Israel to begin implementing the second phase of UN Security Council Resolution 2803, specifically a full withdrawal from Gaza, opening border crossings and facilitating humanitarian aid.
• The OIC reiterated its condemnation of Israeli settlement expansion, forced displacement, blockade policies and reported targeting of UNRWA, and said stalled funding and restricted access deepen risks to ordinary Palestinians and to long-term peace efforts.
