Overview
- Ai Ogura set a 1:35.944 to beat Trackhouse teammate Raul Fernandez by 0.005 second on Monday at Jerez, with Marco Bezzecchi third to complete an Aprilia sweep.
- Aprilia rolled out a new front fairing with added wings on the RS-GP, and Bezzecchi walked away after a fast Turn 11 crash during the afternoon run.
- Ducati introduced new front aero, a swingarm cover and a modified chassis, and Marc Marquez said the package improved his front-end confidence as team boss Davide Tardozzi called aero the day’s priority.
- Fabio Quartararo tried chassis, aero and electronic items on Yamaha’s V4, moved up to seventh on the times, and said he found a small gain in front feel while warning fans not to expect big leaps at Le Mans.
- The Jerez outing was the first of four in-season tests under the outgoing 1000cc rules, and a string of incidents involving Jack Miller, Toprak Razgatlioglu and rookie Diogo Moreira showed the risk of chasing fast updates in limited track time.
