OGDCL Restores Jand-1 Well, Tripling Gas Output

The restart showcases OGDCL's in-house sour-gas expertise.

Overview

  • OGDCL said the Jand-1 gas well in Attock is back onstream at more than 21 mmscfd through a 32/64 inch choke at 3,585 psi.
  • Output now stands far above the earlier rate of about 7 mmscfd before the shutdown.
  • The well had gone offline after a mechanical failure tied to corrosive gas with about 8% hydrogen sulfide.
  • Company teams ran in-house assessments and targeted stimulation, retrieved downhole gear, and installed sour‑service corrosion‑resistant tubing under stated HSE standards.
  • The well first produced in 2019 through the Dakhni Gas Processing Plant, and the revival was disclosed in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
