OGDCL Brings Bobi Deep-1 Online at About 2,000 Barrels a Day

Using a 1.5 km flowline to a nearby plant, OGDCL enabled rapid early output to strengthen domestic oil supplies.

Overview

  • OGDCL told the Pakistan Stock Exchange that its exploratory well Bobi Deep-1 in Sanghar, Sindh, is producing about 2,000 barrels of oil per day.
  • The company completed a 4-inch, 1.5 km flowline from the well to the Bobi Plant to start early production with low upfront cost.
  • OGDCL is the operator with 100% working interest in the Bobi and Dhamraki mining lease and filed the production notice with the bourse.
  • The company says the quick start will support domestic energy supply and help reduce Pakistan’s reliance on imported oil.
  • As Pakistan’s largest E&P firm, majority-owned by the government, OGDCL aims for faster cash flow from discoveries while longer-term infrastructure is planned.
