Overview
- Ofgem will lower the electricity unit price from 27.69p to 24.67p per kWh on 1 April, a roughly 6.6% cut worth about £117 to a typical annual bill.
- Based on the new rate, running a typical air fryer is estimated at about 35p per hour and £126.06 per year if used for one hour daily, down from 39p and £141.50.
- The update translates to an annual saving of £15.44 for that usage example.
- Air fryers generally remain cheaper to run than ovens, which use around 2,000–5,000W and cost roughly 49p per hour.
- Energy advisers say some fixed-rate tariffs currently beat the incoming cap, so switching before April could secure bigger, longer-lasting savings.
