Officials Identify Three Women Killed in Napa Crash

The Mitsubishi driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI manslaughter.

  • CHP said a southbound Mitsubishi sideswiped an SUV and then hit a Toyota on Silverado Trail near Stag's Leap Wine Cellars in a crash late Saturday morning.
  • The Napa County coroner identified the victims as Vivian Bertolino, 65, Linda Walters, 62, and Katrina Clarke, 65.
  • Bertolino and Walters lived in American Canyon and Clarke lived in Sacramento, according to county officials.
  • The Mitsubishi driver, 58-year-old William Dene Brumley of Vallejo, was booked on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of drugs and was hospitalized but expected to survive.
  • CHP said two Mitsubishi passengers and one Toyota passenger died, other Toyota occupants were treated at a hospital, the SUV occupants reported pain only, and investigators have released no further findings.
