  • A Baltimore County officer who was struck by gunfire while responding to a report about a suspicious person and indecent exposure Sunday was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
  • Officers were called around 8:50 a.m. to a trail off Milford Mill Road and were fired upon when they arrived, according to police statements.
  • Police sealed the 900 block of Milford Mill Road, set roadblocks near Deerfield Avenue and Scotts Level Road, and staged nearly two dozen marked and unmarked vehicles and crime-scene vans near Villa Nova Park.
  • The Maryland Transit Administration detoured Local Link routes 81 and 85 and suspended service to the Milford Mill Metro Station because of the police activity.
  • Officials scheduled a public update at 1:15 p.m. at Shock Trauma and investigators say the officer’s condition, the suspect’s identity and a motive remain under active investigation.
