Odisha Orders Rapid Recheck of 2.85 Lakh Subhadra Exclusions After Errors Surface

State teams have begun door-to-door rechecks to correct errors, with results headed to the chief minister.

Overview

  • Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said field-level inquiries into those excluded from the third instalment will finish within 15 days.
  • A health department survey of roughly 14,000 people listed as dead found 1,805 alive, indicating erroneous removals from beneficiary rolls.
  • About 37,000 cases flagged for vehicle ownership will be re-verified by the transport department within seven days.
  • Exclusions were triggered by criteria such as filing income tax returns, owning vehicles or five acres of land, and death entries on ration cards, with over 21,000 linked to IT returns.
  • Compiled verification reports will be placed before Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for final decisions, as the grievance module and portal reopen for claims and the scheme continues for over one crore beneficiaries.
