Odisha Launches 27 Industrial Projects Worth ₹25,300 Crore, Targeting 52,000 Jobs

The push is billed as a move up the manufacturing value chain to position the state as an investment hub.

Overview

  • Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi virtually laid foundation stones for projects spread across 12 districts including Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Khordha, Koraput and Angul.
  • The pipeline spans chemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy equipment, steel and advanced downstream manufacturing.
  • Flagship ventures named include SRF Ltd at Gopalpur SEZ, Epsilon in Jharsuguda, Bajrang Steel & Power in Khordha, Sova Solar in Angul and Greenply Industries in Koraput.
  • Officials highlighted marquee proposals such as SRF’s planned ₹10,000 crore plant in Ganjam and Epsilon Carbon Ashok’s ₹5,806 crore facility in Jharsuguda, both presented with projected job figures.
  • Majhi said the state has approved 260 projects worth about ₹5.6 lakh crore in 15 months with potential for 3.6 lakh jobs, while claiming 77,894 jobs created so far with roughly 80% going to Odias.
