Obsidian Sets May 27 Delisting for The Outer Worlds Base Game, Makes Spacer’s Choice the Standard

The consolidation streamlines buying to address complaints about the remaster's performance.

Overview

  • On May 27, Obsidian will remove the DLC‑free base edition from most store pages and sell only The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition going forward.
  • Players who already own the base game will keep it and receive Spacer’s Choice for free, and the remaster’s price will drop to $39.99 after the change.
  • Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch store pages will continue to offer the original release, while PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC storefronts shift to the remaster.
  • On PS4 and Xbox One, upgrading after May 27 will require the base game plus both DLCs, with Obsidian dropping the paid upgrade path and permanently discounting the add‑ons.
  • A small patch is live now, and a larger May 27 update will deliver performance, lighting, and quest fixes and add grenades as a new combat option.
