Obsidian Delists The Outer Worlds Base Game, Offers Free Spacer’s Choice Upgrade

The plan targets a better-performing remaster with easier upgrades for owners.

Overview

  • Obsidian will pull the original The Outer Worlds from most storefronts on May 27, leaving the Spacer’s Choice Edition as the version on sale.
  • Owners of the base game will receive Spacer’s Choice at no extra cost, while upgrades on PS4 and Xbox One require owning both DLC packs.
  • Spacer’s Choice will drop to about $40 on May 27, and the previous paid upgrade path will be removed.
  • A larger update set for May 27 will add grenades and bring performance, lighting, quest, and gameplay fixes.
  • A smaller patch is already live with typo corrections, bug fixes, better unstuck behavior, and frame rate improvements.
